Feature in January 2015 issue of Shutterbug Magazine: The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood (1948) wanted to reform art by replacing what it saw as a mechanistic approach with a return to the detail, intense colors and complex compositions of Quattrocento (late Middle Ages) Italian Art. What does this have to do with Jessica Jenney? I don't know a better way to describe Jessica's painfully beautiful photographs that are collected into an understated site hosted on the Smuguug platform. She's arranges her main group of images in three collections entitled Landscapes, FLowers and Whimsical. Intimate Landscapes contains the essence of Jessica's oeuvre, with impeccable compositions wrapped in a Pre-Raphaelite she says is achieved with "various treatments" I don't care about the technical details involved because it all starts with a unique vision that she brings to these photographs, and all...
Park Central Hotel Installation

The lead designer of the hotel's renovation found inspiration with its location at the epicenter of New York City. You will notice design touches throughout that pay subtle homage to the lushness of Central Park, as well as other renowned cultural venues within a 3-block radius. The project was such a personal one that Jeffrey Beers, of Jeffrey Beers International, called it "A Love Letter to New York City". Artist Jessica Jenney Receives Award

Local photographer Jessica Jenney of Bronxville has won second place in the Digital Darkroom category of BetterPhoto.com's February 2011 competition, with this photograph, Victorian Spring taken at the New York Botanical Garden. Jessica applied some artistic touches during post-processing in Photoshop, saying "I wanted to give a vintage feel to the spring garden, with muted colors and texture overlays." Jessica has lived in Bronxville for 15 years, and works fulltime at her photography. She developed an interest in film photography (remember film?) about 20 years ago, but it wasn't until the advent of digital that her passion really blossomed. Jessica treats each captured image as a blank canvas, ready for the artistic flourishes she can add with Photoshop. I am very excited to have been selected from out of over 30,000 works of art to display my work in SoJie 3. SoJie 3 takes its name from the Solo Exhibition group's Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is only the 3rd one, ever, and 56 other artists, besides myself, are represented. Winners of the invitational will be announced on June 2nd, when a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in three categories: digital art, photography, and traditional art. Non members, as well as members, ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hope that you will click the show banner, above, and follow the link to view my fellow exhibitors. Now in its 26th year, SURTEX is the only show in North America solely devoted to selling and licensing original art and design for all types of products. Main Line represents a select group of artists, and assists the artists in promoting their artwork to manufacturers in the gift and paper product industry. Main Line seeks to get artists original work placed on a range of items from cards, coffee mugs, and decorative flags to gift items, notebooks journals essentially any item that can feature an illustration.
