Gouache is an opaque watercolor media with brilliant colors, easily controlled, oh-so-forgiving, and joy to work with, and was perfect to render the clear reds I wanted for the Queen's dress. I love the sweetness in her face, and her piled up pink hair. Definitely it would work well in a little girls room-- or a baker's kitchen!
